Tezos has officially shared its presence during the upcoming Art Basel festival in Miami.

As Art Basel 2022 prepares to begin, this year’s festivity is expected to see a large influx of digital art and Web3 brands’ participation over November 29-December 3. Marking the largest edition to date, this year’s Art Week Miami will showcase 283 galleries, with 26 exhibitors participating for the first time.

The blockchain smart contract platform, Tezos will make its second Miami Beach debut with an interactive exhibition, “Performance in Code” – built on Tezos’ energy-efficient chain.

The presentation will showcase the intersection of creativity and data within generative artwork.

In 2021, the Tezos exhibition made headlines as the first interactive NFT exhibition in the history of Art Basel Miami and introduced fairgoers to a powerful experience at the intersection of human behavior and generative algorithms. This year, the Performance in Code: Deciphering Value in Generative Art will invite attendees to scan a QR code to claim an NFT instantly and observe the live gallery space evolving in real-time as visitors mint more pieces.

Guests can interact with generative artists, learn about NFTs, discuss hybrid worlds of the digital and physical landscapes, join in or view a live NFT mint, and hear from leading voices and builders in the space,

With the large number of art enthusiasts that attend Art Basel annually, Performance in Code will provide attendees with the opportunity to mint NFT art of their own – created autonomously by thirteen contributing artists.

The installation will also include work from the emerging artists, Tyler Boswell, DistCollective, and Ivona Tau.

The NFT Speaker Series is set to explore the topics of artistic applications of algorithms, use cases for NFTs, and the meaning of value in the world of digital art. For those unable to attend in person, the panel will be live streamed through Tezos’ YouTube.

Tezos has been around since 2014 when Arthur and Kathleen Breitman’s Swiss law firm, MME joined forces with the South African cryptocurrency entrepreneur Johann Gevers. Tezos picked up speed as one of the inaugural blockchain-based platforms to apply a proof-of-stake (PoS) algorithm to issue digital assets and DApps.

With Tezos, developers, artists, entrepreneurs, brands, and others from around the world can create and interact with decentralized applications through an energy-efficient blockchain

Since then, the Tezos network has been applauded for its sustainability and minimal carbon footprint with more than 81.7 million contracts in operation.

In November 2021, Tezos partnered with the generative art platform, fxhash to bring the creation of art NFTs to the Tezos blockchain. With the partnership, fxhash allows any user or creative to upload their own code and mint a Tezos-based NFT seamlessly.

The collaboration still stands today as fxhash will lead Tezos’ live NFT mint experience during Performance in Code.
