AMC Theaters Now Accepts Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and More
Following their success in the NFT space.
AMC Theaters, a brand that was brought back to life by its meme stock boom back in late 2021, has now followed through on its promise of accepting more cryptocurrencies. According to a tweet from CEO Adam Aron, the theater will now accept Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and other coins for payment via mobile ticketing.
Exactly as promised, the AMC mobile app for AMC’s U.S. theatres now accepts online payments using Doge Coin, Shiba Inu, and other crypto currencies — thanks to Bitpay. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paypal. To do so, you first will need to update to the latest version of our app. pic.twitter.com/MMy7SIxYbl

The theater now accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu. These cryptocurrencies can be used to purchase tickets and concessions using the AMC Theaters mobile app, made possible through their partnership with Bitpay.
AMC Theaters has also been exploring the NFT sector with their successful release of the Spiderman “No Way Home” NFT in late 2021, which was airdropped to customers who purchased tickets on opening night. This release generated the second-highest one-day ticket sales in AMC history, with over 86,000 NFTs being sent out. The brand also launched its “AMC Investor Connect” program in partnership with “World Asset Exchange” (WAX) as their Blockchain scaling solution, which saw another successful NFT release.
