The limited supply of 24,000 boxes will consist of first edition wearable NFTS for Doodles 2, a new dynamic collectible where holders may edit their appearance as often as they choose. Doodles holders will also have access to an exclusive community of products, campaigns, and live events.
The price is currently set to “mrkt” as bidders can place however much Ethereum (ETH) they’d like to potentially win one of these surprise boxes. By hosting the “Bucket Auction,” users will determine the boxes’ price through placing bids, tracking the auction, and potentially raising bids to ensure securing one. The final cost is to be determined by the distribution of the highest bids. Any losing ETH bids will be refunded back to the bidder.
The auction closed on June 30, at 7 pm EST, and was distributed on the Ethereum blockchain. The unboxing will occur at a later date, along with the release of Doodles 2.
The Doodles team has also reserved 4,000 boxes in their Genesis Factory to incentivize in-person event attendance. This provides a unique opportunity for those trying to get their hands on extra boxes through real-life involvement at an even lower price.
Doodles has been active over the past few weeks, recently appointing Pharrell Williams as the new Chief Brand Officer. The project also recently closed its first round of funding led by Seven Seven Six, a venture capital firm run by Reddit Co-Founder, Alexis Ohanian.
