Chipotle Launches 'Buy The Dip' Crypto Giveaway

Giving away $200k USD in rewards in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Dogecoin.

Chipotle has launched a crypto giveaway game called “Buy The Dip” in celebration of National Avocado Day. From now until July 31, participants will be able to win cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Dogecoin. Other prizes include food items and of course Guac.

The crypto prize pool totals $200,000 USD and will be given out in varying amounts and crypto tokens to 516 players. An additional 700,000 players will receive free food and dip vouchers.

While no purchase is necessary to participate, crypto prizes do require that the participant be 18 years or older, reside in the U.S., and have a verified Coinbase account.

“We want to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web3 community,” Chipotle’s chief marketing officer Chris Brandt, adding “we’re excited to bring positivity to the crypto conversation.”

This is the second time Chipotle has done a crypto giveaway, in 2021 it offered a “Burritos or Bitcoin” promotion where it gave away $100 thousand USD in Bitcoin. Thanks to a partnership with Flexa that the chain established last month, users can now pay for their orders with over 98 different cryptocurrencies — including all the tokens that are being given away.

Whether it’s gated fine dinning experiences like you might find with Gary Vee’s Flyfish Club or a Bored Ape Yacht Club themed burger from Bored & Hungry — it’s clear that Web3 and food have a future together.

In other news, FOX and Dan Harmon launch their first blockchain-based animated series.
