Highstreet X 8-Bit Transform Major Retailers into Metaverse Entryways

Launching “phygital” streetwear fashion to global department stores.

The retail-focused metaverse, Highstreet is collaborating with Mostly Heard Rarely Seen 8-bit collection founder Jonathan Koon, to bring an immersive streetwear experience to the digital environment. 8-Bit is known for its pixel-based style, which is prominent in virtual art and design today.

On August 1, Highstreet and 8-Bit will drop their first collection of QR-coded fashion, allowing customers to digitally clone themselves and their purchased apparel into Highstreet World — Highstreet’s own metaverse.

The collection will be launched online in a digital retail store powered by NFTs, along with in-person shopping through global department stores.

Leveraging legacy department stores, 8-Bit’s apparel can be found in major retailers like Sak’s 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Beymen, and more, which will all serve as a portal to Highstreet World.

In its efforts to help reshape legacy retail, Highstreet actively (and virtually) hosts brands looking to establish a presence in the metaverse — opening doors to anyone from online gamers to high-end fashion enthusiasts who buy “phygital” products that are integrated with real-life and metaverse utilities.

Unlike traditional fashion, each exclusive article of clothing is embedded with a custom, scannable QR code which launches the item’s digitalized form for avatar and metaverse wear.

“Every participant’s avatar will be an extension of their real-world self. We’re taking this step with Jonathan and 8-Bit on bridging streetwear culture with Web3 at Highstreet World,” said Travis Wu, CEO, and Co-Founder of Highstreet.

Additionally, customers will be given a starter pack of $HIGH tokens — Highstreet World’s native token — as an early start to navigating its metaverse.

“Wearing a piece by 8-Bit is more than just a fashion statement — it’s now a way for newcomers to dip their toes into the metaverse,” said Koon.

As established fashion brands continue paving their way into the digitalized world, limited-edition apparel benefits from the blockchain’s permanent record-keeping abilities.

By transitioning garments to Highstreet World, physical assets are minted as an NFT, providing everlasting ownership and authenticity for collectors.
