The new marketplace aims to stand out by providing a level of security that is scarcely found in other NFT marketplace platforms. It does so by utilizing its cutting-edge hardware combined with the use of its Ledger Live application — allowing for a secure way for collectors to buy, sell, transfer and store NFTs.
Ledger’s hardware is what is referred to as cold storage, in short, it allows for the private keys of a user’s wallet to be stored offline — keeping it safe from hacks and other exploits.
To be sure a wide variety of Web3 was represented, the platform partnered with over 20 different brands in and outside of NFTs to raffle off allowlist spots. Some of these included Deadfellaz, gMoney’s Admit One, Hypemoon, VeeFriends, Ambush, Moonbirds, and more.
Some of the announced perks of owning one of the Genesis Pass NFTs include a limited edition all-black Nano X made with premium materials, preferred access to collaborations, special access to new hardware releases, and NFT airdrops from Ledger’s Resident Artist Program.
At the time of writing, individuals who have won the Premint raffle for the Genesis Pass can mint for another nine hours, after that period the NFTs will be made available to those on a waitlist.
The redemption period for the accompanying limited edition Nano X devices is said to start in the Fall. Ledger has also said that more updates on the marketplace and artists included in the newly announced resident program will be shared soon.
In other news, the University of Tokyo will now offer metaverse education courses.
