Steve Aoki Enters The Metaverse With Playable Avatar Gaming

In collaboration with The Sandbox to connect the musical celebrity to its fans digitally in next week’s mint.

Steve Aoki, GRAMMY nominated music producer, artist, and entrepreneur is taking his NFT community, A0K1VERSE, into the metaverse.

In partnership with The Sandbox, a metaverse platform, Aoki will connect with his fans in a new digital experience and game.

With only 3,333 unique playable avatars, A0K1VERSE members will have the opportunity to mint a limited supply Aoki avatars on July 25. After Aoki’s allowlist, public mint access will begin on July 27.

The avatars will be playable in the artist’s initial Sandbox game, Alpha Season 3.

The community-driven project encourages endless imaginative opportunities for its users and creators. Bringing collectors’ NFTs to life, the avatars will unlock special functionalities within the virtual setting.

Through gaming, players will be able to monetize their digital assets with interactions and achievements to earn SAND, The Sandbox’s cryptocurrency token. Bridging the gap between Aoki’s biggest fans, gamers, and the metaverse, the DJ will host exclusive token-gated events such as live concerts and his signature cake-throwing activity inside Aoki’s “playhouse.”

The celebrity crypto enthusiast previously joined MetaZoo Games, as co-founder for the trading card game, MetaZoo: Cryptid Nation.

Earlier this year, Warner Music Group utilized The Sandbox to create a music-themed world for artists and fans to engage in immersive musical events. Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, also recently launched the metaverse’s biggest skatepark within The Sandbox.

The metaverse has continued to open opportunities for  other musicians like Deadmau5 and Snoop Dogg to produce their own respective decentralized universes for their fans.
