NFT holders can exchange the virtual collectible for a physical board game.

World of Women (WoW) has announced a new partnership with Hasbro Gaming and WS Game Company to launch a special-edition version of Monopoly.

World of Women is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection consisting of 10,000 unique digital women avatars. First launched in July 2021, WoW has grown significantly with the mission to create a supportive community that brings opportunity and representation to the growing Web3 space. WoW Galaxy (WoWG) continues WoW’s original collection and vision with a fresh supply of 22,222 tokens, and currently over 11,000 different owners.

“Partnering with a historical brand like Monopoly is an incredible opportunity for our collective and community,” said artist and co-founder Yam Karkai.

The new WoW Galaxy Monopoly, a classic board game spin-off, will be available to Wow and WoWG NFT holders only. To begin, the game will be distributed as an NFT with the option to exchange the virtual collectible for a physical board game. Board game giant WS Game Company has agreed to produce and distribute all tangible goods.

WS Game Company owns licensing to well-known games like Scrabble, Candy Land, Yahtzee, The Game of Life, and many more. “Joining forces with another female-led business on an initiative in a historically male-dominated industry is a great opportunity to ensure equal representation across multiple industries,” shared Kerry Addis, WS Game Company’s co-owner and VP of Product Development. “Alongside Hasbro and World of Women, we’re elated to begin the creative process to cultivate a unique Monopoly experience unlike anything before,” she added.

Since its launch last year, the WoW and WoWG communities have been embraced by industry collectors, investors, and celebrity holders. The project recently partnered with metaverse platform The Sandbox to create a $25 million USD metaverse fund to amplify the representation of women in decentralized web spaces.
