Metaverse Platforms Begin Onboarding Process By Leveraging Hollywood Talent
To help encourage their respective Web2 communities to take an interest in these virtual worlds.
While the idea of the metaverse is still a fairly new concept to grasp, platforms are now beginning to leverage Hollywood celebrities and talent across the globe to help onboard their fans into this new digital era.
Web3 icon and renowned DJ, Paris Hilton, just announced that she would be bringing her 20 million+ IG followers into the metaverse in her new partnership with The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands and 11:11 Media — Hilton’s global media firm.
Hilton has been widely recognized throughout the space as one of the earliest adopters of Web3, first launching digital wearables in 2015, and her own “Paris World” in Roblox’s virtual gaming platform earlier this year.
Hilton’s fans have been provided the opportunity to connect directly with the celeb in The Sandbox through exclusive rooftop parties and social gatherings inside her digitalized Malibu mansion.
While Hilton is not the first to bring her social media clout and following into the metaverse, a recent study conducted by Izea revealed that 56% of the industry’s most recognized influencers have also started to onboard their communities into the metaverse.
Fame from athletes, entrepreneurs, and other talent continue to avoid a sense of FOMO (the fear of missing out) by hopping on the Metaverse bandwagon in launching their own derivative projects in efforts to onboard their respective communities into these virtual worlds.
Snoop Dogg continues to form bridges for his supporters to join crypto conversations and Web3 space with “Snoopverse” — another interactive plot of virtual real estate located inside The Sandbox, where the rapper hosts concerts, parties, shopping experiences, and unique exhibits highlighting his artwork and passion for luxury supercars. Snoop also has released limited edition private passes for his biggest admirers to join him in Q&A’s only available inside the metaverse.
Similarly, acclaimed DJ producer Steve Aoki, engages with his global community by performing DJ sets in one central space, the metaverse. Building an entire empire, A0K1VERSE offers an NFT-based membership club for both physical and web-based experiences.
YouTuber and boxer, Jake Paul, has expressed his heavy investments in crypto, with a giveaway of $100,000 (USD) worth of metaverse land as a way to attract newcomers.
Displaying the same amount of confidence, actress Reese Witherspoon carried her production company, Hello Sunshine, into the space with an NFT art gallery in partnership with the World of Women (WoW) NFT collection.
Other Hollywood talent, including Rihanna, Lebron James, Jay-Z, and Shaquille O’Neal have all filed for various trademark protections, further promising their own branded ventures set to launch within the metaverse realm.
In other metaverse news, Jo Baker and Grace Gaustad redefine “self-expression” with launch of digital makeup line.
