Blankos Block Party Becomes the First NFT Game Listed on Epic Games

A marketplace from the creators of Fortnite with over 190 million total users and 31 million active daily users.

Blankos Block Party, created by Mythical Games has recently accomplished several feats. The NFT-based game is said to have over one million active players and has recently entered into a collaboration with Atari. Even more significant for Blankos is its listing on the Epic Games Storefront, a marketplace owned by the creators of Fortnite.

The news is significant because the Epic Games Store has over 31 million active daily users, according to the most recent data. This figure effectively expands Blankos’ audience by 30 times and also creates the opportunity for increased NFT adoption.

Available regions include North America, South America, Germany, Parts of Africa, Various South East Asia regions, and more. A common question following the news was how the new launcher will work, and if any update would need to be made to the existing launcher — the answer was no.

Users do not need to reinstall anything, and while downloading through Epic Games will effectively be a new launcher — there is no difference between Blankos Block Party accessed through the Epic Games Marketplace versus through the native launcher. The listing simply allows for more visibility and access to a broader audience.

Blankos has continued to grow in popularity, with major collaborations from names like Deadmau5, Burberry, and most recently Atari.

The collaboration is live at the time of writing and is in the form of an unlimited blind box, priced at $9.99 USD or 1,000 Blanko Bucks — the in-game currency of Blankos.

Focusing on providing a free-to-play option that does not require the purchase of NFTs or cryptocurrency has been one aspect of Blankos Block Party that has brought it to the stage of success it is currently at. This is likely the best case for adoption, creating access and options that do not overwhelmingly change or interrupt existing consumer patterns.

As the game grows and newcomers join, it will be exciting to see what collaborations come next, as well as what other NFT games might end up on the Epic Games Marketplace.

In other news, the blockchain RPG ChainGuradians presented a metaverse-style streetwear runway show at NYFW.
