GODA'S "Todd James’ Art Party" NFT Drop is Officially Here
Bridging the artist’s 2000’s-inspired art with the modern NFT space through fresh colorful designs.
GODA (Gallery of Digital Assets) officially announced its second collection, “Todd James’ Art Party,” on Wednesday, August, 31, following the marketplace’s initial debut with “Nina’s Super Cool World” last month.
Todd James’ collection with GODA, known for its unique style of bright colors and modern-day paintings, sold out within the first day of its release. The “Art Party” NFTs highlight James’ selected topics into 1,533 unique digital assets on the blockchain.
“The collection takes a sampling of themes from my paintings like Tanks, WarPlanes, and Snipers along with an image from a recent painting of a phantom Rider. Also included are Tit Wizards which was a plush sculptural toy that had appeared in small paintings. The final theme is a Graffiti bubble letter piece with a classic graffiti character and or a cobra face,” James shared exclusively with Hypemoon.
As GODA aims to onboard contemporary artists and collectors into Web3, James explained, “these themes were chosen as an introduction to the Web3 community and would be familiar to in-real-life collectors and art lovers alike.”
James began his traditional artistic career with street art at an early age in the New York City subway system – exploring politics and comedy in his creations. After years of habit, the artist has collaborated with trending brands such as Supreme, Billionaire Boys Club, and Adidas.
Through NFTs, James’ decades of experience representing the early 2000’s battles are being presented in a unique way to the new modern audience. He also channeled his childhood nostalgia with the TitWizards and Phantom Rider into Web3 — carrying out themes relating to magic, lust, and power into the collectibles.
Art Party welcomes James’ established collectors to experience the new innovative abstract designs inside the Web3 realm, while introducing his style to recognized NFT enthusiasts.
On August 30, GODA’s Mint Pass Holders were invited to mint one NFT each, which sold out prior to opening to the public.
“[Todd], always created these super interesting paintings and drawings. He brings you into his own world,” Pharell said in video via Twitter.
Todd James previously worked alongside Pharrell in designing the Adidas Supershell Artwork Collection, which featured their own flare onto the brand’s iconic Superstar sneakers.
