NBA Top Shot to Launch Mobile App on Apple and Google Storefronts
Allowing users to interact with their collectibles, get notifications on new drops, as well as buy and open new Starter Packs.
NBA Top Shot is on a mission to make its collectible experience more personalized, innovative, and accessible with its recently announced plans for a mobile app.
The digital sports collectible platform says it has been “working hand-in-hand with Apple and Google to deliver a preeminent mobile product experience for the community.”
Some of the features found on the app are said to include drop notifications, collectibles with 3D interactivity, search functions, social capabilities, and more.
The mobile app is designed to keep users up-to-date on the latest drops, challenges, and playlists, personalized to their preferences. Users can also easily buy and open “Starter Packs” within the app and receive notifications on important announcements, sales activity, fresh drops, new challenges, and more.
While further details have not been shared at the time of writing, it is likely that these Starter Packs will have a fixed price and be purchasable through fiat only, to maintain somewhat strict policy requirements with Apple and Google storefronts.
For the ability to buy and sell more limited edition digital collectibles using crypto, like LeBron’s 38,388th record-breaking shot, collectors will likely still need to access the desktop version for the time being.

As for access to the app, members of the Nine Lives Lounge, Dapper Sports VIP Program, and Team Captains Communities have received early access, with select international collectors having been invited to download the app as well.
That being said, all collectors are eligible to join the mobile app waitlist now and will receive access on a rolling basis. The platform hopes that the application will revolutionize how users interact with their moments and collection, open packs, and stay in the know. Stating that “this is just the beginning of our mobile evolution and we are so excited to share it with you.”
