UNXD and Valentino Want to Write Luxury’s "Next Chapter" With New Partnership
That will bring the iconic Maison into Web3 as it looks to expand out its foundation in virtual fashion, physical craftsmanship, and curated community experiences.
Web3’s leading luxury platform, UNXD announced its partnership with Valentino to bring the iconic Maison into the metaverse, forming the foundation of Valentino’s venture into virtual fashion, physical craftsmanship, and curated community experiences.
This announcement comes just a month before the start of Metaverse Fashion Week, pioneered by Decentraland and UNXD.
Last year, UNXD raised a $4 million USD funding round led by Animoca Brands, Polygon Studios, and Red DAO.
However, the company is best known for its high profile collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana – Collezione Genesi – in September 2021, which brought in around $6 million USD at the final sale.
The Polygon-based platform holds itself out as a B2B2C (business-to-business-to-consumer) platform, collaborating with established brands while creating its own NFT collections and marketplace. It also operates under Nervora, the same parent company as Vogue Arabia and WIRED Middle East.
Maison Valentino, a leading Italian institution in fashion and luxury, is frequently considered to be synonymous with inclusiveness, uniqueness and creativity.
While this will be the first steps that Valentino will make into Web3, the luxury brand hosted its Forever Valentine exhibition in Doha in October, where attendees were able to download an app that showcased the 200+ garments on display.
With over 163 locations and around 1,000 points of sale, Valentino has served to operate as both a people-centric company and its “green transition” that it started a few years ago.
