Beatport, the global leader in electronic music for DJs, producers, and their fans, is joining forces with Polkadot, the next-generation blockchain network powering the movement for a better web, to launch Beatport.io, a digital collectible marketplace bringing electronic music culture to Web3.

Founded in 2004, The Beatport Group is a global hub of music for DJs, producers, and their fans that operates out of Berlin, Brighton, Denver, and Los Angeles. Its massive portfolio of products includes its preeminent store for electronic music DJs, Beatport, an open-format DJ community, Beatsource, along with other tools for products and label management, including LabelRadar that also helps streamline demo submissions.

Developed and designed in partnership with Define Creative, Beatport.io will launch on Aventus, a Web3 solutions provider for enterprises and parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem.

Those new to Aventus shouldn’t worry, as this is primarily an enterprise solution that helps onboard businesses into Web3 by scoping out potential use cases and customizes a SaaS-style product so that enterprises can generate new revenue streams, improve operational efficiencies, and future-proof their business.

Polkadot connects private and consortium chains, public and permissionless networks, and oracles.

Björn Wagner, CEO of Parity Technologies, a leading contributor to the Polkadot network told Hypemoon that by applying Polkadot’s technology to this new initiative between Beatport and Aventus, they hope to “reignite the collectible aspect of music fandom” that they believe has been lost in our digital media age.

This new initiative will mark Beatport’s first foray into Web3, with Aventus enabling record labels, producers, and artists to create and sell their assets, while artists and fans look for new ways to deepen their relationship.
