Passage Protocol’s Next-Gen Loyalty Program Empowers Brands To Look Beyond The Mint
Enabling leading brands like CoinDesk to take live event membership to the next level with multiple layers of benefits.
Passage Protocol, a software company that deploys enterprise-grade tools for consumer-facing brands, has partnered with CoinDesk to release an exclusive multi-year digital ticket to Consensus 2023-2025. The layered digital access, called Microcosms, includes a unique generative art piece by Art Blocks curated artist Fahad Karim and a multi-tiered holder rewards system consisting of a speaking slot on stage, a booth on the show floor, and meetings with leading Web3 venture capitalists.
Unlike traditional event tickets, the Microcosms Pass unlocks new rewards year after year, providing a new kind of membership and relationship with its most loyal members. Holders of the Microcosms Pro Pass have already received airdropped rewards, such as a CoinDesk Media Buy worth $10,000 USD, entry to private events, exclusive merchandise, a signed NFT by Karim.

“So many projects in this space don’t think past the mint or drop. This project is setting an example of what’s possible, from its generative artwork to the way long-term utility is expressed,” said Passage Protocol Co-Founder Meral Arik
With TOLLBOOTH, Passage can enable recurring payments through credit cards and cryptocurrencies to support subscription-based models. This also allows for the collection of data and insights for targeted marketing and the implementation of on-chain rewards and incentives.
The company is also preparing to debut three no-code offerings — GYSR.io, which will offer on-chain incentive and rewards mechanics, Freestyle, which will enable free customizable membership NFTs; and Drillbit, a behavioral analytics tool for tokens. These tools will help power innovation and make new, more sophisticated Web3 membership use cases easier to create and manage.
In addition to CoinDesk’s Consensus, Passage Protocol has previously powered loyalty and data backends for multiple live events, including Admit One 9dcc during Art Blocks x Art Basel 2023 and Deca’s membership generative art NFTs.
While there are many ticketing and NFT loyalty membership programs available, many of them do not go beyond the initial mint and offer limited rewards or benefits for their holders.
These programs are often centered around music events and festivals, and may not cater to the growing demand for loyalty programs within the broader Web3 world of annual worldwide events and conferences. Passage Protocol’s Microcosms, however, stands out by offering a comprehensive and multi-tiered reward system that unlocks new benefits for holders year-after-year, setting the stage for a new kind of membership and relationship with holders.
“CoinDesk’s Consensus Pass marks a new era of projects doing more for holders, programmatically, beyond the static token. Passage‘s products power innovation by making new, more sophisticated web3 membership use cases easier to create and manage,” says Passage Protocol co-founder Zac Choi.
Consensus 2023 is a three-day event taking place in Austin, Texas from April 26-28. It will feature content across more than 10 stages and workshops covering topics such as crypto, blockchain, Web3, the metaverse, and A.I. The event will also include networking events, parties, live music, and experiential activations.
