Fidelity International's Metaverse Experience Promotes Financial Literacy in the Digital Era
Fidelity International Launches Metaverse Experience to Encourage Financial Literacy through interactive and virtual education.
The world of finance is rapidly evolving, and so too, are the methods by which people learn about it. Fidelity International, one of the world’s leading asset managers, has announced the launch of Fidelity International Campus, a unique metaverse experience aimed at promoting financial literacy and educating users on the importance of financial planning, money management, and investing.
The Fidelity International Campus is a virtual world designed to offer an immersive and engaging experience for users to learn about investing and financial planning through interactive games, galleries, and experiences. The metaverse experience, located within Decentraland, is one of the first launched by a global asset manager.
As users explore this virtual world, they can unlock digital assets such as NFTs and exclusive Decentraland wearables, adding an extra level of interest to the learning experience. The Game of Life allows users to simulate real-life financial scenarios and explore how to make intelligent financial decisions.
The Social Mobility Gallery exemplifies Fidelity’s efforts in building better financial futures through supporting social mobility and even allows users to mint NFTs. The limited-edition NFTs were created in collaboration with students from School 21 in Stratford, London.
“With awareness and interest in the metaverse continuing to increase, the Fidelity International Campus provides access to practical financial knowledge to a wide audience, especially to younger generations who are highly engaged within Web3 technology. It represents a new frontier in financial education, providing a dynamic and engaging way for users to learn about finance in the digital age. By offering an interactive and entertaining environment, we aim to encourage more people to improve their financial literacy and ultimately build better financial futures,” said Emmanuelle Pecenicic, Head of Digital Propositions and Partnerships, Asia Pacific ex-Japan, Fidelity International.
The Financial Literacy Around the World report claims that just 33% of the world is financially literate. Since cryptocurrencies are emerging as a significant financial asset, it is just as important to implement their functioning and their impact on the economy in our financial education. The lack of knowledge and understanding surrounding cryptocurrencies is a major barrier to their adoption and use.
Launching the Fidelity International Campus is a significant step in the evolution of financial education, leveraging the power of the metaverse and virtual settings to offer a unique and innovative learning experience.
