AMBUSH x Ledger Collaboration Sees Crypto Storage Reimagined by Yoon Ahn

Featuring a liquid metal-like case for the Ledger Stax that Ahn says is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration.

During a Bright Moments event in Tokyo, leading crypto security solutions company Ledger and celebrated luxury streetwear brand AMBUSH announced a collaborative offering that will launch as part of the fashion brand’s Fall/Winter 23 lineup.

Created for the collaboration is one singular item, a case for the upcoming Ledger Stax device. The case was designed by the AMBUSH co-founder and creative director Yoon Ahn and features a liquid metal-like silhouette, a metallic exterior, and a padded black interior that fit the Stax device will fit seamlessly into — based on early images.

The Ledger Stax, conceived by celebrated tech designer Tony Fadell was first unveiled in December 2022 at the brand’s flagship event, Ledger Op3n, in Paris. Following its announcement, the innovative cold storage device received so much demand that pre-orders were forced to pause but are expected to resume shortly after Summer orders are fulfilled.

As for its case with AMBUSH, Ledger’s Chief Experience Officer Ian Rogers shared that “increasingly our technology choices reflect a facet of our personalities. The culture we consume, share, and collect is digital – YOON + VERBAL move effortlessly between the physical and digital as if the boundary doesn’t exist,” he added that “we’re honored to have this case designed by YOON to be our first collaboration for Ledger Stax.”

Yoon echoed this sentiment from Rogers, stating that “we’re thrilled to be working with Ledger on this project,” adding that “the liquid metal wallet is not only visually striking but also a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration. We can’t wait for people to see it and experience the unique features it has to offer.”

While a significant collaboration for AMBUSH, it’s not the brands first in Web3 and it is by no means a new comers to the space. The brand has been consistent in its exploration of new tech, including both metaverse and NFT offerings — including collaborations with Avalanche and Azuki in 2022, both of which featured on-chain enabled fashion items.

Co-founders Yoon and Verbal have also been recently announced as part of the LEDGER PRO TEAM for its second season, where they will join a collective of thought leaders, creators, and artists from across the space to educate, advance, and further inspire various Web3 communities.

In other news, Bershka and FFFACE.ME become the latest to release AR-enabled clothing.
