Ubisoft and Reddit Reveal Rabbids NFT Collectibles

In a limited supply, free-to-claim offering featuring themes like Ninjas, Knights, Unicorns, and of course — plungers.

Reddit has teamed up with Ubisoft to bring its mischievous Rabbids IP (intellectual property) to its platform as a limited but free digital collectible.

The Polygon-based NFTs come in six different styles, with four of the six being fully claimed, namely the Plunger, Raving, Traveler, and Unicorn Rabbids. Still available to claim at the time of writing are the Ninja and Knight Rabbids — both of which wield the iconic plunger from the beloved IP.

While many of Reddit’s collaborations with other IP franchises generally see customizable clothing as an aspect, the Rabbids collab takes things a step further and allows users to swap out their Snoo [Reddit's Mascot] character for a Rabbid, in addition to clothing items and accessories.

What makes this collaboration so exciting is the significance of Rabbids across gaming culture, with the little white alien rabbits becoming synonymous with Ubisoft itself.

First introduced in the mid-2000s, Rabbids have captured the attention of gamers with their humor, mischief, and memorable gameplay experiences — including collaborative crossovers into other popular franchises like Nintendo’s Mario.

The creatures are known for their hilarious antics, exaggerated expressions, and distinctive language, which mostly consists of gibberish. Their infectious energy and comedic appeal have resonated with players of all ages, making them beloved characters in the gaming community.

This latest collaboration marks Ubisoft’s continued pursuit of blockchain offerings, with past explorations including Tezos tokens in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, collaboration with Integral Reality Labs on Assassin’s Creed “Smart Collectibles,” and Rabbids integration into The Sandbox.

For Reddit, its collaboration with  Ubisoft is just one more step in the direction of mass adoption for its digital collectibles, which since launch have seen massive growth and momentum.

According to data shared in a recent Decrypt article, the platform has distributed over 13.5 million Polygon NFTs, spanning more than 9.7 million unique wallets. Notably, most of these NFTs were given away for free to Reddit users.

Additionally, Reddit’s NFTs have generated over $32.6 million in total secondary sales volume across nearly 300,000 transactions –exemplifying the power of a nearly frictionless adoption method.
